Last September a set of webinars on the Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP), the new innovative funding tool for the development of EGNSS applications tailored to public authorities took place (click here and go to page 100 for more details on this specific funding opportunity).
Innovation procurement can deliver solutions to challenges of public interest and digital technologies, and may be an interesting new instrument for European GNSS. Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) can be used when there are no near-to-the-market solutions yet and new R&D is needed. PCP can then compare the pros and cons of alternative competing solutions approaches, enabling to de-risk the most promising innovations step-by-step via solution design, prototyping, development and first product testing.
The webinars were focused on four different market segments - Aviation, Maritime, Rail and Timing & Synchronisation - and we had the opportunity to:
• Discuss about innovation areas in EGNSS downstream applications where public authorities can apply and benefit from,
• Inform about the general Pre-Commercial Procurement concept, the participation rules and conditions,
• Announce the upcoming funding opportunities on this topic.
You can find the presentation of each webinar here below.
