Career in the European GNSS Agency

Working within the European GNSS Agency represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the most important technological innovation project in the European Union. The Agency needs highly qualified personnel, able to undertake the specialised tasks that will make the plans a reality. Determined to apply the best world-class competitive practices, the GSA has drawn a large majority of its current staff from the private sector, mostly from commercial industries.

However, we also look for a wide variety of corporate service personnel, e.g. HR specialists, finance experts, auditors, legal counsels, lawyer, communication officers, procurement experts or IT experts. All of these specialists require secretarial, administrative and support services, so we hire in these areas too.

Important information for applicants:

As of 1 September 2012, the European GNSS Agency has its new seat in Prague. Nevertheless the place of employment for the positions within the Galileo Security Monitoring Centre (GSMC) is Brussels, to be relocated to St. Germain en Laye (France). The place of employment for the positions within the Exploitation team is also in Brussels, to be relocated to one of the sites of GSA. The applicants for GSMC and Exploitation vacant posts are therefore asked to be ready to relocate to the new seat within the term of their contract.

The interview

Interview Invitation

If you are shortlisted, our recruitment team will contact you to arrange an interview. Candidates are expected to respond to interview invitations within 48 hours and make themselves available for interviews within 5 working days. The planned time-line of interview is indicated in each vacancy notice. Therefore please ensure that you can be reached via the telephone numbers and email address provided in your application form.

Assesment Tools

We use a range of assessment tools to make sure we find the candidate whose profile most closely matches the requirements of the position. Our assessment tools include written exercises, candidate presentation, panel and/or one-on-one interviews. In certain cases may include also psychological assessment.
During the interview(s) you will be asked about your knowledge, experience, opinions as well as how you have handled past situations and how you would handle specific scenarios.
These assessment tools will cover a number of the key technical and behavioural competencies which have been identified in the vacancy notice.

Preparation for the Inverview

We recommend that you prepare carefully for the interview:

• Familiarise yourself with the GSA’s mission and tasks.
• Read the vacancy notice carefully and think about where you have performed tasks similar to those described and have demonstrated relevant competencies. We will want to know why you think you are the right person for the position and how your experience makes you suitable.
• Be open and communicate your thoughts, views and feelings to the committee. We want to get an impression of you as a person and not just of your knowledge and competencies.
• Take the opportunity to ask questions and obtain the information you need to help you for an opinion of whether the position and the GSA is where you would like to be.

Interview Expenses

If you travel for an interview, we will reimburse you for your expenses according to our interview reimbursement rules. You are entitled for the reimbursement only have you received the duly signed invitation.

Interview Outcome

If you are successful, the recruiting coordinator will call you and say that we will be sending you a written offer.
If unsuccessful you will be informed by the recruiting coordinator.

Applying for a position in the European GNSS Agency (GSA) implies sharing your personal information with us. We take the need to protect your data seriously.

The data you submit is processed in order to assess your suitability for a position at the GSA.

Some of the data you submit (name, address, education and qualifications, work experience, spoken languages and IT skills) will be accessed by the members of the Selection Committee established for each recruitment procedure.

The data is stored with our external data processor. We do not disclose or sell your data to third parties.

Your personal information is handled in accordance with the confidentiality and security requirements of Regulation (EC) No 45/2001. This Regulation concerns the protection of individuals in respect of the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and the free movement of such data.

As an applicant, you can submit an updated application correcting your data any time up to the vacancy deadline. We store your data for 24 months after closure of the recruitment.
