
Galileo Application Days: Registration now open03 December 2009Register now for Galileo Application Days, 3-5 March, which will feature live demonstrations of cutting-edge applications and services developed to exploit the global satellite navigation systems (GNSS), in addition to kicking off the 2010 European Satellite Navigation Competition. ![]() The event is hosted by the European Commission and is organised by the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA) and the Application Centre for Satellite Navigation in Oberpfaffenhofen (the managing organisation of the European Satellite Navigation Competition). It will take place at the Charlemagne Conference Centre in Brussels and will feature a unique ‘Applications Village’ outside the Berlaymont Building, the headquarters of the European Commission.The Village will feature live demonstrations of innovative GNSS applications developed under the EU’s 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7), the European Satellite Navigation Competition, the European Space Agency Technology Transfer Programme, and national and regional initiatives. In addition to the live demonstrations, a variety of information sessions will be open to those who register to attend. The first day of the event will kick off with a roundtable featuring global GNSS leaders. Expert coaching for small- and medium-sized businesses will be provided by the SME Venture Academy. The 2010 European Satellite Navigation Competition will be launched on 4 March. Entrepreneurs and businesses will be provided with information on how to get involved in the competition, which awards a wide variety of prizes to those proposing to develop market applications for Galileo and EGNOS. The third day (5 March) continues with overviews of the satellite navigation market, industry keynote speakers, success stories and demonstrations.
